  1. Tom Hagen always has been a fascinating character to me. The German-Irish orphan that got taken care of by an Italian mafia family. That is, an organization for which bloodline is essential. So he was always part of the family, while at the same time, not being totally part of it. Such an interesting situation to observe, as a spectator.

    R.I.P. Robert Duvall

  2. Part 3 would have been epic if they stuck to the original idea of a power struggle between Michael and Tom. I understand Duvall demanding a comparable salary to Pacino, though. What could have been…. R.I.P.

I love this scene for everything that isn’t said between these two characters, even Hagen’s subtle translation of Frank’s family name, knowing that Frank has no real choice and can only save his family.

  4. I’ve grown to believe this is the better of the two. The performances of all the characters are truly incredible

I have watched this film at least 20 times. And I’m still finding new things that I appreciate every time. Impeccable.
