Recently I came across this beautiful piece, probably from the mid-30's. It is signed by a boatload of movie stars for MGM and was presented to Jack Flynn, a major distributor for them. I was able to guess a lot of them based on the photos, but not all. Figured you all might have fun trying to figure them all out!

I was able to pick out Mickey Rooney and Judy Garland right off the bat. I need to brush up on my classic movies.

  2. That’s amazing and I want it!

I can name a good handful of them, mostly the men. I don’t know what it is, but I seem to have face blindness when it comes to Classical Hollywood actresses.

Can’t help you with this but how crazy is it that we are less than nine years away from the (next) mid-30s?

  4. Well, Clark Gable right off the bat on the top next to the Marx Brothers, and Humphry Bogart just to the left of Greta Garbo and Joan Crawford. Micky Rooney at the top left, just above Spencer Tracey and beside (I think) Hedy Lamarr, and then Joan Crawford on the right.

I seen Mickey Rooney, Wallace Beery, Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable, Greta Garbo, and Joan Crawford.

  6. I recognize most of them. Keep in mind these are not autographs but someone labeling who is in each photo.

    Myrna Loy
    Clark Gable
    Marx Bros
    Spencer Tracy
    Franchot Tone?
    Greta Garbo
    Joan Crawford
    Wallace Beery
    Rosalind Russell
    Judy Garland
    Jimmy Stewart
    John Barrymore

Going top left -> right and then working our way down:

First row: Mickey Rooney, [unknown], Robert Taylor, William Powell, [unknown], Clark Gable, The Marx Bros (Groucho, Chico, and Harpo), Jimmy Stewart

Second row: Spencer Tracy, Robert Montgomery, [maybe Jane Lawrence?], Greer Garson, Hedy Lamarr, Judy Garland

Bottom Row: Nelson Eddy, Greta Garbo, Joan Crawford, Wally Beery, [unknown], Lana Turner, [maybe Ginger Rogers?], Rosalind Russell

If this is an original you have a helluva collection of autographs of the Golden Age of Hollywood’s biggest and most legendary stars all on one piece. To the right collector this would probably fetch a good price (assuming the signatures are more legible in person than in the photo).

  9. I missed the bit in OP that talked about Jack Flynn, so I did a search for him to try to find out who he was and found a seller listing for this piece, which had been done for a party in 1934 for MGMs distributors and execs that was filmed: [https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279745/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_accord_1_cdt_t_1](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0279745/?ref_=nm_flmg_job_1_accord_1_cdt_t_1)

Jack Flynn was in charge of the Mid-east division.

For those interested, the listing mentions all the people, but of course not which one goes with which. I won’t repost here, but for those who want to cheat:
