So strange seeing this and knowing Fraser and Weisz returning is just around the corner.

I was already seated for this because I love Cronin’s Evil Dead movie but now I’m even more hyped. I hope the 70’s aesthetic of the poster is a preview of the vibe of the movie.

Written and directed by Cronin (‘Evil Dead Rise’):
>The young daughter of a journalist disappears without a trace in the desert. The shattered family is stunned when the girl suddenly reappears eight years later. But what should have been a joyful family reunion quickly turns into a true and horrifying nightmare.
>Stars Jack Raynor, Laia Costa, May Calamawy, Natalie Grace and Verónica Falcón
This has no connection to the other Mummy sequel happening with Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weisz

The trailer for this was VERY spooky

I received an invite to a test screening of this and it had a big disclaimer about “THIS IS NOT RELATED TO THE BRENDAN FRASER MUMMY MOVIES AND IS AN ORIGINAL STORY.”

I love how everything about this movie is discussing how this isn’t anything like the Brendan Frasier The Mummy.
I have distinct memories of another The Mummy but I’m glad that our society has rejected its existence like war in Ba Sing Se.

The poster looks like something I’d see on a VHS tape in the horror aisle at Blockbuster back in the 90’s.
I say that as a compliment.

Anyone think that poster is AI generated?

Doomed to fail with that title

I’m not understanding who Lee Cronin is and why he deserves a John Carpenter-style above the title credit.
