It was tough seeing Ilis bomb like that. He had wayy to much media pressure on him.
Mikhail’s face when he found out he got gold made my heart grow 10 sizes. I love the Olympics.

At only 21 and having not lost a competition in two years, most people would have been an awful lot less gracious than Ilia was in that moment. He should be very proud of himself. I hope he has all the support he needs.
I’m so thrilled for Misha, Yuma and Shun.

Man, my heart hurt for Ilia so much watching him in the aftermath of his performance, you could see his disappointment and see him working hard to hold it together.
But Mikhail’s reaction when he won gold 🥹🥹🥹🥹 beautiful

I think this was the biggest upset by an unexpected winner since Sarah Hughes beat Michelle Kwan, Irina Slutskaya, and Sasha Cohen for OGM in 2002.
Also I feel horrible for Ilia, but I’m really unhappy that his comments in the K&C (and Johnny Weir co-signing them) about how this wouldn’t have happened if he’d been selected in 2022 have reopened that debate. You don’t get an Olympic spot for practice in the US; it’s too competitive.

i can’t imagine how Ilia feels there has been way too much pressure on him i hope he has a good support system. Happy for Mikhail though he had a beautiful skate and it was nice so see Ilia congratulating him even though i’m sure he was experiencing a lot of emotions

The pressure that the media, the fans and whoever else put on these young athletes is rotten. They’re set up to fail
