  1. it’s honestly a crime that we haven’t had a big budget gore verbinski film in a decade. the industry moved away from visionary directors who actually care about practical effects and shifted toward the mvc assembly line. lone ranger flopping killed his momentum but the man literally gave us the best pirates movies and rango. he deserves another shot

Probably because he made 2 flops back to back with one of them being one of the Biggest Bombs of all time in The Lone Ranger.

  3. Sweet pay walled article!!

Also, the guy LITERALLY has a movie in theaters – so maybe he is still around?

But if I was to wager a guess – the guy had two major flops back to back.

    Gore knows what that means.

He had a good run, got more bites at the apple than most, and has a movie in the theaters.

    He is fine.

As a Dutch person reading the name cracks me up every time

    Gore means Dirty in Dutch

Verbinski seems similar to “verbinden” which means connecting (or a connection) in Dutch

So in my head I always immediately translate the name to “Dirty Connection”

    I’ll show myself out 😉

  5. *Good Luck Have Fun* is 84% on RT with a budget of just $20 million. Give him a second chance with Pirates, Disney. He’s earned it.
