A Ring doorbell cam came with our house. Somehow I missed how terrible they were (even tho I have been boycotting every other form of Amazon for two years now lol). Then the Super Bowl ad came out and I quickly bought a new doorbell cam that doesn’t add to mass surveillance bc of how fucking dystopian that commercial was. I’ll be disposing of the Ring.

Okay that commercial is amazing, but I’ve had Wyze cameras for years and they’re terrible. I do like that I can use an SD card, but their motion activation is crap and they keep putting more and more features behind a monthly subscription paywall. Would love to hear recs for cameras that don’t surveil us all and actually work well.
