What makes all this shit 10x dumber is that they act like he’s some obscure artist who could have only possibly been included as a political statement.
He was the most streamed artist in the world in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2025. It’s incredibly likely that he would have been chosen even if things weren’t the way they were with ICE/MAGA/etc. Since 2010, 5 of the half time shows have been headlined by non-American artists. And Bad Bunny is not 1 of those 5.
It is inherently racist to view an American citizen, who was born in the USA, as inherently being an anti-ICE protest solely due to speaking Spanish. Bad Bunny is literally not an immigrant.
Yes he is against ICE, rightfully so. And it could be argued that the very act of speaking Spanish on a national stage could be considered a protest due to how fucked up ICE is, as they target anyone who speaks Spanish, citizen or not. But that is 100% not why she’s saying this
