  1. Unfortunately irl it’s the honest police officers who fear the dishonest one because they’re outnumbered 10 to 1 and the ones running the department. I’m told you either learn to stomach corruption and look the other way or you find another job.

  2. Frank Serpico still gets hate messages and death threats from active officers. He blew the whistle over 50 years ago.

    Sidney lumet and al pacino in the 70s were an unstoppable force. between *serpico* and *dog day afternoon*, they basically defined the gritty, anxious atmosphere of new york city in that era. pacino’s performance here is raw in a way you just don’t see anymore
