The cast was ridiculously good. Toni Collette was incredible as always, and you also had Brie Larson, John Corbett, Rosemarie DeWitt, Patton Oswalt and Keir Gilchrist all delivering great performances. It feels like such an underrated show now.

I do! I remember initially wanting to watch because Aidan from “Sex and the City” was playing her husband lol, but it actually turned out to be a pretty good show.

I feel like a lot of Showtime series are like this: they end and then just disappear into the cultural ether. Other than, like, “Dexter” or “Homeland”, it feels like a lot of them tend to be forgotten

I LOVE THIS SHOW SO MUCH. The entire cast was *so gooood*, Toni was unbelievable, and the ending was a gut punch that I still think about.

I rewatched it a few times. Heartbreaking close to be a great show. Great acting, great premise, some daring directions but plenty of bad decisions were made in the writing.

Also huge, huge missed opportunity in the last season >!Toni shouldn’t have been playing all of the roles in the meeting of the minds. It would be great to see what Tara’s mind thought they really looked like.!<

  4. This show was pretty underrated and the cast really carried it. Also happens to be the like one Showtime series from this era that didn’t go on 3 seasons past its expiration date (Weeds, Dexter, Californication, Homeland, et al).

  5. For *YEARS* I thought United States of Tara was a reality tv show about Tara Reid. It’s a good one!

I looooved this show. Even when it came out, I kinda felt it wouldn’t age particularly ewll, but it was so good and fun I didn’t even care.

  7. Yes, one of the most original shows of that decade. Truly stacked cast with not one dud in the bunch.
