Hey Reddit! It's Riz & Aneil here.

We’ve collaborated before on the Oscar-winning short film The Long Goodbye, and for our latest project, we’ve brought Shakespeare’s HAMLET into a neon-soaked, high-stakes modern London. It’s a story about identity, power and madness, we can't wait for you to see it, in cinemas this Friday.

Watch the Trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TXTA2CUWmsE

Ask us anything, we'll be back online Thursday 5th Feb 6pm GMT / 1pm EST to answer your questions.

See you there!

In Four Lions, your Punjabi/Urdu swearing was hilariously specific. Was any of that improvised or drawn from real life?

And if you weren’t acting or making music, do you think cricket would’ve stayed just a fandom for you, or could you have gone deeper into it?

  2. Hey guys! Hamlet has been retold multiple times and in different settings, what about modern London and a neon motif specifically appealed to you as the right place and time for retelling this Shakespearean tragedy?

  3. Hamlet seems like a dream role for so many actors. Which other characters from Shakespeare or elsewhere in the canon would you love the chance to play?

  4. Were there any specific intentions you went into the project with, given Shakespeare’s works have been re-imagined and recreated so many times throughout history?

No question but I just hope you see this: much as I am uninterested in another Hamlet adaptation, this one definitely has drawn my interest and I hope it is received well. Riz has shown himself to be a fantastic actor, I always look forward to more.

What’s one thing you’ve seen screenwriters do that genuinely helped them get noticed?

  7. With Chloe Zhao’s Hamnet out right now, I have to ask – have you both seen it and if so what were your thoughts?

Hey Riz, I first saw you in Night Crawler which I found you amazing in.

How much money do you think you could have actually gotten from Lou, $75 a night a little too low for me

No question from me Riz, just wanted to say I’m a huge fan of yours and have been for ages, and I’m thrilled by your success in recent years. I hope Hamlet adds to that.

Sorry – I’ve come up with a question mid-post. Would you be the next Bond if asked?

  10. Riz…was it the fulfillment of a childhood dream to be in a Star Wars film? Secondly I loved Relay

  11. Hey Riz, loved you in Rogue one. What was life like after being forever etched into the Star Wars universe?

Hey Riz, wanted to tell you, as someone that’s losing their hearing, you were powerfully in Sound of Metal.

  13. How long did shooting take for ‘Hamlet’ and what obstacles did you face in terms of location (and unexpected challenges)? Thank you Riz and Aneil

  14. Riz Ahmed – what are your thoughts on doing a Bollywood movie one day?

The whole song and dance shenanigans and the million emotions.

I haven’t seen a single preview, but I’m so excited to watch Hamlet!

When making a decision about what projects and roles to take on, what factors do you take into consideration?

  16. If you did Four Lions again today (as a reimagining, sequel, or however you want to think about it) what would you do differently? And is that because you changed, the world changed, or both?

  17. Hi Riz, I just wanted to say you were amazing in Sound of Metal. Your eyes tell a thousand stories.

  18. I know Riz from his album The Long Goodbye (and Rogue One of course)

Collab hip-hop album with Mamdani when?

  19. Hi Riz,

I’m a big fan of your work. I hope this isn’t too political a question: do you think the general British public’s attitude to the Muslim community has changed much/evolved at all since Four Lions (for better or worse) – 15/16 years on from the film’s release?

You and the rest of the cast were outstanding in that movie.
