There were some funny cameos in that movie. I like the one with the Three Stooges as Firemen! What an all-star cast! That movie is hilarious!

Some context to this scene: “Wellll…” was Jack Benny’s catchphrase on his TV show. Ethel Merman (the lady yelling at him) was a frequent guest on his show and she would often be shouting and arguing with him in their sketches. The music was a violin passage, which Benny often played, badly, on his show. Finally he’s wearing a bowler hat because the scene was initially written for Stan Laurel, who was supposed to do his trademark crying in response to Merman. However, the producers couldn’t talk him into doing it because he swore never to do another movie without Oliver Hardy.

The fight at the service station is priceless.

I absolutely hate Ethel Merman. Her screeching voice is fingernails on a chalkboard to me.

This movie honestly still holds up today, absolutely hilarious. If you liked Rat Race you’ll like this one.
