this is a hot take, I suppose, but: tou can not yell fuck ICE and support the military. it’s a cognitive dissonance situation because what do you think the military is doing in other places?
“but it’s a job with benefits and people need them” = yes, so is police and ACAB
“but it helps with conflicts in other countries” = siiigh
“the military isn’t just for wars, they do research” = and they shouldn’t, money and resources for research shouldn’t be tied to military personnel who aren’t bound by the same legalities
i’m not saying you have to go and find a solution right now, i’m saying the US military is, to other parts of the world, what ice is to americans
(obviously not just the US military, but they’re kinda all over the news atm)
