I know the article says that it’s part of his character’s storyline, but they also point out that he’s a regular on The Hunting Wives, so I’m assuming this is a break to give him the opportunity to go film Season 2.
As is, to my knowledge, pretty much all regulars across the Chicago shows have to miss a few episodes due to budget cuts/contracts, so would make sense to put his altogether and align it with another project.
