If I remember season 1 correctly, the dad ditched them and is on the run because of fraud his startup was doing, stepmom and daughter go to Texas and find out that the dad and daughter are also on the run from Texas mobsters as well, and the stepmom makes a deal where the daughter is safe now, but the dad isn’t. Also, Aisha Tyler does something but I’m not sure what.

Definitely didn’t finish season 1 very satisfied
