Just an incredibly sad situation. I watched him on All in the Family as a kid with my parents and some of his movies are my favorites.
I’m just now seeing trump’s vile response to their deaths and I just cannot believe the tragic death of a national treasure kind of film maker is being politicized by the madman President.

I can’t imagine how horrifying it would be to find your parents like that and later finding out your brother did it. I’d be destroyed.

🙁 my brother is mentally ill and almost killed my parents in a violent attack, it’s awful. I feel lucky he didn’t have access to a gun or he might have killed my whole family. I feel so bad for their daughter who reportedly found them. Adult children with mental illness is incredibly difficult to deal with, parents often have the hardest time cutting their child off and it leaves them the most vulnerable. I don’t know about their situation, but in mine my parents were the last and most consistent sources of love and support and they were the ones attacked. I wouldn’t wish this sort of thing on anyone.
