  1. > When asked if he would write his NYT op-ed again if given the chance, Clooney replied, “Yes. We had a chance. I wanted there to be, as I wrote in the op-ed, a primary. Let’s battle-test this quickly and get it up and going. I think the mistake with it being Kamala is she had to run against her own record. It’s very hard to do if the point of running is to say, ‘I’m not that person.’ It’s hard to do, and so she was given a very tough task. I think it was a mistake, quite honestly. But we are where we are. We were gonna lose more House seats, they say. So I don’t know. To not do it would be to say, ‘I’m not gonna tell the truth.’”

  2. The mistake was him trying to run at all! Had we had a proper primary maybe we would have gotten a candidate that could have actually captured the moment. Not one that was forced to figure it out with half the time! All while trying not to step on Old Joe’s shoes.

  3. Why does he feel like his opinion matters? Who gave up their seat at the table? STFU Clooney. Stay in Italy and don’t pop off!

He can’t have it both ways. Either he was wrong to call on Biden to drop out, or he was right and the obvious replacement on the ticket was Harris. There was simply no time for a primary at that late of a date.

  5. Oh thank god, I was losing sleep wondering what George Clooney thought about Harris replacing Biden. Crisis averted.

It’s not clear to me exactly what he’s saying was a mistake. He may be saying: 1) Someone other than Harris should have run; 2) Harris’ campaign strategy was a mistake; 3) The op-ed he wrote demanding Biden drop out was reasonable with what he knew at the time, but in hindsight was a mistake; 4) Having Harris step in *at the time she stepped in* was a mistake.

    Hindsight is 20/20.

Biden wasn’t fit to run again and should have bowed out gracefully. That will be his legacy, sadly.

Seems a bit hypocritical don’t you think? I really wish he would stay quiet, be thankful that he’s rich and didn’t have his food supply abruptly cut off and just move on and deal with his guilt in silence.

George Clooney can’t give me any political advice nor do I care what the fuck he has to say about the election he’s rich, white man and won’t be affected by any of the shit that’s going on!

S T F U Clooney. You and your ilk demanded Biden not run. We don’t want to hear it. You fkn amateur. You’re just like all rich people, just because you are famous and have money you have inject yourself and your pie hole into every situation that is way beyond your skill set. Sit down and shut up.

Shut up, George. Once Biden was forced out, there was no other option. We were fucked either way.

  12. He’s absolutely right America is still far too misogynistic for a female president. Even during the 2016 election the kkk stated they would vote for a black man before they would vote for a woman.

  13. The mistake was lying about Biden’s health and then not holding a primary for his replacement and just letting Harris assume the mantle without any democratic process

Dems had 4 years to do anything like idk pass bills to make sure Trump couldn’t run, making Trump go to daily hearings to talk about his role in January 6th like they did with Hillary in Benghazi, speed up his investigation with the DOJ, ect. Instead they sat and wasted time and let Garland do his thing which he’s absolutely useless. 4 years they wasted and they could have chosen someone to run other then Biden, but waited a few months before the election to switch Biden for Kamala lol

Harris wasn’t exactly set up for success. She did the best she could with what she had. Biden fucked us by even running in the first place. Any other democrat candidate would’ve won. Biden is just another political asshole that had too much hubris to get out of our way

  16. Nietzsche_Peachy on

The mistake that Clooney doesn’t see, along with the rank and file Democratic Party, is they didn’t allow the people to have a say.

  17. ShroedingerCat on

The mistake was him, and others, being the mouth piece of the top Dem backstabbers didn’t have the guts to talk to Biden early on, and fkd us all by staging a Coup to pick whomever they wanted after the primaries.

  18. People to the Dems: “Shouldn’t you start preparing for another candidate while Biden is still in office?”

    Dems: “Nah we got this”

Then they immediately did not got this.
