Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure (1989) was made to convey worries of rock stars gaining political power, so they needed to educate rock stars to make them believe certain political figures were on the level, especially Napoleon Bonaparte, who basically ruled France for purposes of war profiteering.
They use the story tool of subtext to convey these messages in the works, mostly to relay the messages to other criminals and to add certainty to their cause in the production of the works. They have maser instruments being used to fulfill their desires on these political actions, among other things.
